Guild Motto: Friendship is the shining path we weave
Serving Handweavers and Spinners on the Central Coast of California since 1962

We are celebrating 50 years of sharing and friendship. In
January of 1962, a small group of local weavers and spinners met in
Morro Bay to share information, support and encourage each other and
to promote and celebrate handweaving and spinning on the Central Coast
of California. That first meeting grew into what is now the Central
Coast Weavers, serving all of San Luis Obispo County, as well as Northern
Santa Barbara County.
We are no longer a small group, but our goals haven’t changed
over the years. Sharing information and friendship while promoting weaving
and spinning are still at the heart of the guild.

Over the years, we have expanded our membership to include basket makers,
dyers, braiders and, in fact, anyone interested in the fiber arts. The
benefits of Guild membership include twice monthly guild meetings, weekly
spinners meetings, workshops, study groups, an annual retreat, and access
to an extensive library of books and videos.
We encourage and appreciate a wide range of weaving styles, techniques
and ideas. We welcome new members and encourage them to become a part
of the local weaving community. Please contact
us for more information or visit our Meetings
Page for information on upcoming meetings.
